At True Cause Health, meaningful change begins with listening — to your story, your history, your lifestyle, and the signals your body has been sending. Our work focuses on uncovering the functional root causes behind your symptoms and creating a clear, personalized plan that supports your body’s natural ability to rebalance. Functional Medicine connects the dots — nutrition, hormones, sleep, stress, toxins, genetics, and more — to reveal the patterns truly influencing your health. Together, we’ll investigate, understand, and make meaningful changes so your body has what it needs to do what it’s designed to do: THRIVE.
Your human body is a self-regulating system designed for resilience. When exposed to chronic stressors such as nutrient depletion, inflammation, poor sleep, toxic load, emotional stress, it’s regulation can falter. We seek to understand why dysfunction is occurring by exploring the interactions between your genetics, biochemistry, and lifestyle. Through this systems-based lens, we explore the underlying causes of your imbalance and help you support optimal function across your body’s networks.
With this approach in mind, we have seen the same pattern again and again. People who eat well, take supplements, and seem to do everything “right,” yet still don’t feel their best. Often, the mind-body connection is out of balance. Shame, bitterness, childhood trauma, guilt — feelings that have never been processed — can build emotional stress in the body like a pressure valve… until it overwhelms the system. Food and health protocols matter immensely, but sometimes the work goes deeper. Your heart and your nervous system have to be part of the process too.
That’s why at True Cause Health we’ve built a team that supports your whole wellbeing.
Nutritionist-Dietitian
Board-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner
I’m Carolina, a Nutritionist-Dietitian and Functional Medicine Practitioner passionate about helping people uncover the true causes behind their symptoms and support lasting wellness.
From a young age, I was fascinated by how the human body works—but also deeply anxious about my own health. I studied Nutrition and Dietetics, driven by a belief that food could be a powerful tool for healing. Back then, nutrition was rarely seen as part of medicine, and I eventually drifted into the corporate world. My purpose—helping people heal—got buried under deadlines and marketing plans. Years later, my anxiety and health struggles deepened. I believed my body was broken and that my genetics had already decided my fate. I associated having any symptom, going to the doctor, or anything related to my body with “fear” and “a sentence.” When my mother and grandmother were both diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s, that belief seemed confirmed. Even my doctor told me I might also have “won the lottery ticket” just like them, when older. But curiosity can be powerful medicine. I began to study everything I could about the condition, all the “modifiable” factors involved, and I learned how much the body’s capacity can shift when given the right environment. That search led me to Functional Medicine—and my vision of medicine and my body changed forever. I was no longer scared; I was EMPOWERED. I learned that symptoms are not random; they’re messages. When we uncover their root contributors—gut imbalances, inflammation, toxins, stress—we can awaken the body’s natural resilience in profound ways. Medicine doesn’t have to be fear. A diagnosis doesn’t have to mean resignation. Medicine is hope, and there is so much we can do to support long-term health and age with vitality. Today, after earning my certification and transforming my own health, I founded True Cause Health, and I’m devoted to helping others discover the same. My work focuses on understanding root causes and supporting the body through a personalized, scientific, and compassionate approach.
